Northshore Schools Foundation is a local 501 (c)(3) local non-profit, charity that serves students, and teachers in the Northshore School District located in the communities of Bothell, Kenmore, Woodinville.
They were voted best local non-profit in the Best of Northshore 2016 and 2017, are a Gold Participant on Guidestar, and have received the Top Rated in 2015 award from Great Non-Profits.
They are best known for enriching the educational experience for students, supporting teachers and making a meaningful contribution to public education and the community. The Foundation has granted over $1.4 million dollars to our schools, funding programs and resources that benefit every student nearly every day during their school career.
We raise funds and build partnerships to fill in gaps in support of District priorities for educationalsuccess and excellence for all Northshore students, teachers and staff.

Relevant & Impactful Curriculum
The 21st century workplace demands a labor force skilled in science, technology, engineering, literacy and math and armed with innovative, creative and critical thinking skills.Additionally, strong reading and writing skills are at the heart of academic success in all subjects. Throughout our district, Foundation grants pay for S.T.E.M. programs, textbooks, classroom libraries, leveled books and teaching resources that enrich education for students at all grade levels. Music and art education are important priorities that we help fund because of their proven value within and beyond the classroom.
Northshore School District strives to provide a world-class education to each of its more than 20,000 students. This includes focusing on student equity, inclusion, community and individualized learning. Rigorous curriculum and varied programs meet the individual needs of students and challenge them to excel academically as well. Programs we fund include: Elementary Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Career and Technical Education, Special Education, and Homeless Services. The Foundation has a long history of purchasing textbooks for advanced students as well as supplies and equipment for children with learning disadvantages. We also partner with the District to fund programs such as Natural Leaders and Hang Time, and support initiatives that address non-academic barriers to learning.
Since its inception, the Northshore Schools Foundation has sought to enrich and extend students’educational experiences in many different ways through fitness, health and service learning in providing well rounded support for the best learning environment possible.
The Foundation works closely with the District’s Career and College Readiness Department to ensure that students and teachers have the technology, equipment, programs and local industry partnerships to offer a comprehensive program that furthers intellectual curiosity and prepares students for post-secondary success, productive citizenship and life-long learning.
We know when we invest in continuing education, celebrate innovation, and provide resourc es for individualized teaching,Teachers thrive at reaching each student in the classroom.National Board Certification for Teachers recognizes outstanding professional practice and identifies highly qualified teachers as leaders in their field. To date, over 100 Northshore School District teachers have earned this distinction. The Foundation fosters teacher excellence by offsetting tuition costs for the University of Washington Mentorship Support Program, which supports teachers through the National Board Certification process.We also provide funding for various innovative classroom grants, Project Lead the Way and curriculum refreshes.
