Basic Needs Aid
New this year, we have developed the Basic Needs Aid fund that will offer one-time financial assistance to families experiencing unexpected challenges. When a family is in crisis, normal household activities are disrupted. Students experience distress that affects their attendance, coursework and classroom behavior.
Our community offers many resources to address various long-term needs, helping to create more permanent solutions for major issues. The Basic Needs Aid fund is designed to provide a small amount of financial support as a short-term “band-aid” to help restore normalcy to a student’s life during an immediate crisis.
Funds allow families to stock up groceries or fill the car with fuel so that they can direct energy where it is most needed: finding a permanent solution to the situation at hand.
This funding source will also be used to eradicate school lunch debt that is caused by a family crisis, or for those in need of temporary assistance.
Donations to this fund may be designated to a specific school, feeder pattern, community or the area of greatest need.
