Hour of Code 2017 is coming!
Northshore SD will be an active and eager participant in this year’s Hour of Code week, December 4-8, 2017.
Hour of Code week is December 4-8!
The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify “code”, to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts.
Northshore SD will be an active and eager participant in this year’s Hour of Code week, December 4-8, 2017. With support from our own Northshore Schools Foundation, participants will have an opportunity to earn a $25 gift card and have a chance to win a Makerspace Gift Package for their school!
Teachers who’ve never participated in Hour of Code will want to register for our one hour support session and get prepped for a great HOC experience! Our online overview session is scheduled for November 28, 4:15 – 5:15PM. (PDPlace inservice #9677) . First time HOC participants will also earn a $25 gift card once they complete a brief online survey conducted by the Northshore Schools Foundation.
NEW THIS YEAR! Schools with the highest percentage of participation will have the opportunity to win a Makerspace Prize Package for their school!
Don’t miss out! Register your class or school at the HOC website today and encourage coding as a basic skill with your students! Read more on our blog: http://nsdinstructionaltech.blogspot.com/2017/11/hour-of-code-week-is-coming-december-4-8.html
