Good news: The Foundation is excited to be apart of Fred Meyer’s Community Rewards. What is it? Fred Meyer Community Rewards is an easy way for local non-profits to receive donations from Fred Meyer Stores. Customers earn these donations for their favorite nonprofits by shopping with their Rewards Card. How? A Rewards member can link a nonprofit to their account and immediately start raising funds with us with their eligible sales at Fred Meyer. How much do we get? At the end of each quarter, Fred Meyer will make a donation to participating nonprofits based on the accumulated spending of the Rewards Customers linked to each nonprofit.  Link your Rewards Account to Northshore Schools Foundation, TODAY! E-Shed Prep Event Let’s build! On Saturday, June 7th, NSD Capital Projects teamed up with the Foundation and the Bothell HS CorePlus Construction students to build several emergency preparedness sheds for district use. Under the guidance of their teacher, Derek Jacobsen, students pre-fabricating shed components, and one of the main goals of this event was to assemble and complete the sheds. We’re proud to Build Skills for Life! Special thanks to Abbott Construction, Cornerstone General Contractors, GLY Construction, and Lease Crutcher Lewis for their generous support of this project.   Thank you to Cade for his professional photography skills. Thank you to GiveBIG Donors We raised a total of $1,000 from GiveBIG, an annual statewide fundraising event. 100% of funds raised will be used for our Opportunity Fund, which removes financial barriers for NSD students. Kuddos to all the donors who got that GIVING feeling during May 6-7!

C.P. & Dorothy Johnson Humanitarian Award We’re proud to sponsor NSD’s CP & Dorothy Johnson Awards for the seventh year! This award was established in honor of two educators who dedicated their lives to improving the lives of all children in our community. Call for 2025 Backpacks for Kids Collection Site Hosts Last year, we had over 45 collection site hosts helping us with our supply drive! Anyone can become one and start helping NSD students! From June 30 – July 31, host one of our signature red bins in your office, church, community space, or any public spot to collect school supplies. We’ll provide a poster to help you encourage digital donations, too! Remote team or small space? No problem! We’ll send you a digital poster so your team can donate through our online store. Removing Barriers to Education

Care Team: Who They Are and Why They’re Important The Foundation is proud to have our Care Team Liaisons in all 36 NSD schools and programs. Started in 2018, Care Teams are designated NSD staff who nominate students in need for financial help. Most Care Team Liaisons are school staff members who have direct contact with students, such as counselors, nurses, and other support personnel. Because of our Care Team Liaisons, we can continue removing barriers in education for Northshore students!

One of the most rewarding parts of this role is seeing a student’s face light up when they receive something as simple—but important—as a warm coat.”
